Designing Your Week Around Your Season, Not a Stranger's Schedule
Seasonal living, intentional rhythms, and what it means to build a life you're proud of.
There is a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from trying to execute someone else's ideal week inside your own life.
You've seen it — the 5am club, the 90-minute focus blocks, the cold plunge and the journaling and the workout before the sun rises. Maybe it works for them. It doesn't work for everyone. It probably doesn't work for you in the season you're in right now.
I spent years chasing a productivity aesthetic that had nothing to do with my actual life. I have kids. I have a fluctuating energy cycle. I have days that go sideways before 9am. The rigid systems kept failing — not because I was failing, but because they weren't built for me.
Seasonal Productivity
What changed things was giving myself permission to build around my season. Not the time of year — though that matters too — but the season of life. Right now, my season includes early mornings with my kids before school starts, a homeschooling block midday, and my sharpest creative energy hitting around 10am and again around 8pm after the house quiets.
My schedule is built around those windows. Not around what someone on a podcast said works best.
The question to ask yourself: What does my best week actually look like, given the real constraints of my real life?
Start there. Not with someone else's framework. Yours.
